Briefly about me

Hello wonderful people,

I am Paul Mamalakis, an aspiring content creator/student at California State University Chico.  I see myself, at my core, as story writer.  I would love to see some of my big ideas go on the big screen one day but, at the end of the day, I just really love story telling.  It’s a very powerful tool for opening people’s minds to new ideas and lessons through the power of showing, not telling.  So, in this crazy world, where we are all trying to sort through our own problems, stories help us bridge the gap and figure out life together.  Stories at their best build relationship and understanding between people.

For my education at CSU Chico, I am studying a variety of things including story writing, animation, 3D modeling, 2d art, sound, and other components of film and digital media.  I do realize that is a lot of different mediums to be dabbling in but, as I’ve learned from Brad Bird, to ask the most out of people in a given medium you need to understand what they are doing and how to push them.  Brad Bird was an animator before he became a director, and so he has those skills to create stories and scenes that push animators to give it their all and more – those are the kind of scenes I want in my stories.  I want to push whoever is visualizing my story to create something amazing that others will want to see.

The process of becoming what I want to be is an ongoing journey and I still have much to learn, but I am excited to put myself out there and figure everything out.  I’ve slowly been sharing my journey and growth through things like my college blogs and my various online accounts.  I hope to continue to grow and share more with you.  Hope you like what you’ve seen and thanks for joining me on this journey.
